This blog used to question the number of parties the BBC in Scotland held to mark Hogmanay. In recent years there has been considerable tightening of kilt belts, so much so that the main BBC1 Scotland New Year Show is being recorded in a studio in Glasgow on December 8th. The countdown to The Bells will as ever come live from Edinburgh.
And BBC Alba will still be live, with Cèilidh na Bliadhn 'Ùire at the exotic Nairn Community Centre.
