It looks like Jason Horton, Director of Production, BBC Local will be the first to open this season's "BBC Voluntary Redundancy Window" at a staff briefing next week.
His invitation says that BBC requirement to cut an additional £350m from its spending plans by March 2026 "will enable us to live within our means", which clearly a new form of management triumph. Next week's meeting will not, he says, put anyone's role at risk, but will mark the time that people can volunteer for a financial departure incentive topped up by 10%.
