There needs to be some urgent coaching for BBC reporters on 'the front line'. Avoid labels, say what you have seen.
You don't need to say 'protestors' or 'rioters', 'anti-immigration' or (particularly) 'pro-British.' These are men throwing bricks at police, setting fire to rubbish bins pushed through hotel windows, using racist taunts, wearing facemasks, refusing to follow police instructions to disperse. It may take longer, but it's proper reporting. And, if you're worried about what to say, eschew the drama of the 'live', with action in the background. Review your footage and write a script.
