A total average of 22.32m viewers watched England's defeat by Spain in the Euros on old-fashioned tellies last night, according to BARB overnight figures. That's down on the 2021 figure of 29.85m, when England v Italy went to extra time and penalties.
16.65m chose BBC1, and 5.67m opted for ITV1. More will have watched via the iPlayer and ITVX.
ITV's share of the audience was 25.4%, well up on the 17% (4m) they had in 2021.
