BBC licence fee income dropped by 2% over the year. There were 23.9 million licences in force at the year end (2022/23: 24.4 million).
BBC Studios' earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation fell to £199m, from £252m.
Severance payments over the year totalled £55m for 811 staff, compared with £28m for 416 the previous year.

BBC News presenter Huw Edwards earned upwards of £475k for the financial year, despite only being available for work for three months. His baseline was up from £35k the previous year.
Radio Cymru carried just over 75 hours of trails for others and BBC Sounds promos over the year; plus 84 hours of self-promotion material. The BBC News Channel carried eight and a half days' worth of self-promotion.
