BBC Sounds' latest figures show an average weekly reach of 4.97m listeners in the UK. For all the podcast hype, two thirds of listening is to live radio.
The most popular 'on demand' programmes were The Archers, followed by Whodunnits, a clutch of 51 crime tales from the Radio 4 Extra archive. Currently they start with "Julie Enfield investigates", starring Imelda Staunton, from 1995.
The top podcast - the unctuous Michael Mosley, with the series known locally as "If I hear another just one thing trail, the Google speaker goes in the washing up bowl".
Globally, the top ten list is dominated by Radio 4 content, and stuff from the World Service - The Global News Podcast, The Documentary Podcast, Newshour, The Global Story, and World Business Report.
