The second disappointment of the current pattern of BBC Local Radio: there's been no real attempt to make the shared programmes that replace local output in any way distinctive, purposeful or just ear-grabbing.
It's not as if the problem is new: Remember The Evening Show, launched in January 2013 ? "Great music and conversation as Mark Forrest brings together the best of BBC Local Radio." Mark ended his run in February 2017; Georgey Spanswick came in, and lasted until May 2018 " Georgey replays some of her best bits from the last few years, hears from some singing dogs and looks ahead to the Rolling Stones concert in Coventry."
Here's some recent 'come-ons' from the new national late show, and other regional shows.
