A number of younger ministers have decided to plan ahead for 2025, to avoid the rush of Conservative MPs that will be flooding the jobs market.
Will Quince will not bother ACOBA. Having already decided not to stand again in Colchester, he's standing down at DHSC.
Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, is also standing down from the DHSC. His seat, though subject to boundary change, ought to be safe.
Jesse Norman, author, cyclist and MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, is standing down from the Department for Transport. They'll be lucky to find someone as reasonable about active travel.
Nick Gibb, 63, long-standing schools minister, has stood down, and will not contest Bognor Regis and Littlehampton at the next election. He says he's been “discussing taking up a diplomatic role after the general election”. Suspect David Cameron will not be Foreign Secretary...
