Back in September 2022, Kate Phillips, Director of Unscripted at the BBC said: “Survivor is a global television hit and to be able to bring one of TV’s most successful formats to audiences in the UK in a uniquely BBC way is a very exciting prospect indeed.”
This weekend, the average audience for Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing was 7.8m. The launch edition of Survivor, which followed in the blink of an eye, averaged 2.5m. Sunday's Strictly Results averaged 8m; the second part of Survivor averaged 2.3m. I wonder how many turned to a repeat of the Antiques Roadshow, shunted to BBC2.
Seven more weekends like this, unless the BBC1 team blink.
