One direction

Which will be more influential in shaping our political discourse over the next year - the Conservative Party Car Show in Manchester starting later today, or the meeting of hedge fund managers in London deciding on who's in and who's out of the presentation line-up at GB News ?

GB News' editorial thought leaders will be hoping that, on Friday, they sufficiently balanced Lee Anderson's short love-in with Suella Braverman by reframing Lee's unchallenging original questions, and adding one of their political staff, Nigel Nelson, formerly of the Sunday Mirror and James Schneider, formerly of Momentum, and now unpredictable, to discussions of her answers. The interview itself was so short and unchallenging, there was room in the show, recorded in an empty pub, for popsters Neil "Doctor" Fox and Katie Waissel.
