Content, Jess ?

Here's another quiet Paul Jones on the dancefloor of BBC News. Jess Brammar, whose appointment as an Executive News Editor was thought to risk the Government's 'fragile trust in the BBC' by Sir Robbie Gibb, will not be coming back to News at the end of her maternity leave.

Her appointment came amid hoo-ha, a wiping of Tweets and a Mail hatchet job in September 2021; when she started, she was in charge of two news channels - BBC World News and the BBC News Channel.  When she departed on maternity leave in February, her post was advertised as Executive News Editor BBC News Channel and Live Streams for a year. Paul Royall emerged as interim, and now will continue.

Jess is off to Charlotte Moore's side, in Content, where she will be Editorial Executive, filling a gap left by Rachel Jupp. What sort of work ?  Well, Rachel wrote the report that said Auntie could manage without the BBC Singers. [Earlier reference to Alan Davey's participation was wrong]
