NUJ reps at the BBC have voted to ballot for industrial action in opposition to any compulsory redundancies at the corporation.
The union says there are members under threat at the World Service, the News Channel, and across England at BBC Local. They believe compulsory redundancies are avoidable through redeployment.
Director of Nations Rhodri Talfan Davies has got their dander up; they say at a staff meeting this week he blamed the union for problems during the restructuring that is taking place, and told journalists they should “live in the real world”.
