The BBC's Global Digital and Streaming team is in search of yet another visionary leader, to be based in New York. (Just missed out on Mark Thompson).
It's advertising for a Head of Multimedia. Top three responsibilities are simultaneously gobbledegook and impossible.
1) Develop and deliver an audience-focused digital video distribution strategy for BBC Studios Digital News and Streaming that delivers across BBC Owned & Operated and third-party platforms, answering to both audience and commercial objectives.
2) Build, co-ordinate and manage a multi-disciplinary team with the capability to:
Create and source high value video assets covering timely news and cultural conversations as well as longer-lead features topics.
Develop video and visual franchises to elevate the BBC brand through a unified creative direction across media.
Operate as a ‘horizontal’ team creating video assets to support features verticals including Culture, Travel, Science, Business; as well as news and sports subject areas.
Strategize video versioning for output on site, social, and linear television formats.
Leverage BBC Owned & Operated longform video journalism and Storyworks series to capitalize on existing assets for digital publication.
Collaborate across departments to support commercial partnerships and campaigns
Source, edit & deliver photography and design elements to elevate features articles with a new look and feel.
3) Monitor and evolve Digital Video distribution and content strategy in response to audience and commercial data and against growth and revenue KPIs.
