Headed notepaper

BBC Future Media and Technology was created in a 2006 re-organisation by DG Mark Thompson. It followed the outsourcing of much of BBC technology to Siemens.  By 2011, they were two separate divisions. In 2015 Future Media was renamed Digital, and Technology was renamed Engineering.

In 2016, Digital, Engineering and BBC Worldwide Technology were brought together as BBC Design & Engineering. In 2020, D&E was split into Product Group, Technology Group, and Distribution & Business Development within the public service, and BBC Studios Product and Technology group within the commercial BBC Studios.

Now there's another rejig, and the technology group has become Technology and Media Operations, taking in operations staff from BBC News and others in London; whilst there's also a BBC Nations Operations Group.  Corralling things together usually precedes a hunt for savings....
