Tom Newton Dunn and News UK have parted company. Tom's move into tv broadcasting peaked with an average audience of 54,000 on the opening night of TalkTV at the end of April 2022; by the end of week one, it was down to 14,000, and in the first week in May, 4,800. Most of that 4,800 turned up just before the start of Piers Morgan's show at 8pm. At the end of September, new TalkTV programme supremo Richard Wallace moved Tom to 10pm. 

He stayed there until mid-June this year, when News UK said he went on leave; Media Guido suggested he had been suspended for inappropriate behaviour. Whatever the truth, he's announced that he's taking more time 'off': "It feels now is the right time .. for me to move on.  I’m going to take a well-needed break first and concentrate on recharging the batteries. It’s been a busy couple of decades. I look forward to the next challenge.”
