Staff at the BBC's bureau in Cairo are in the middle of a ten-day strike about pay. It's their third walk-out; they say that runaway Egyptian inflation has halved the value of their salaries, paid in local currency, since March 2022.
The BBC say they've upped salaries by 27% between March and July in mitigation, but are bound by "market pay policy".
