Almost a year to the dot after being appointed interim BBC News Executive Editor running the "Politics Story Team", Hilary O'Neill has been confirmed in the job. Previously she was Mentorn's editor of Question Time for four years, and has had a long spell as deputy editor of the Six and Ten bulletins.
Also confirmed in post today: Lizzi Watson, Executive Editor looking after the central commissioning team that's meant to save BBC News millions by covering fewer stories. She's been doing the job since February 2022.
