BBC DG Tim Davie faces the Culture Media and Sport Select Committee tomorrow at ten, under new chair Dame Caroline Dinenage. One of Caroline's roles during her seven months at the DCMS proper was apparently to chair the Counter-Disinformation Policy Forum, set up in the Covid pandemic. The BBC sent Jessica Cecil to attend - odd, because she was no longer a member of staff.
Dame Caroline may try to major on cuts to BBC local radio - in her campaign to lead the committee, she talked about 'really terrible decisions'. Here's a clip of a Tory MP being interviewed by Tory MPs on a Tory channel with News in its title.
Others likely to pile in on local radio: Jane Stevenson, Tory MP for Wolverhampton North East, and Julie Elliot, Labour MP for Sunderland Central
Tim's wingmen on Tuesday - David Jordan, presumably to handle impartiality (dare he mention GB News ?) and Charlotte Moore, still practicing to be the first female DG.
