Mark Thompson, BBC DG in the days when Auntie bathed in jacuzzis of cash, has been knighted, as has former Sky CEO Jeremy Darroch. There's a knighthood, too, for former BBC Governor Rupert Gavin, an insider on the honours scene for some time, and former BBC Trustee (and wife of Rory Cellan Jones) Diane Coyle becomes a Dame.
And, lately honoured by 'imagine', Stephen Frears is knighted.
Ken Bruce becomes an MBE, for services to autism.
