BBC Director of Nations Rhodri Talfan Davies has advertised for a new helper.
The Controller Production leads the production of all BBC Local services across England, including local television news bulletins, BBC Local Radio and a network of local online services. The post-holder leads a multi-skilled workforce across more than 40 bases producing news, sport, current affairs, podcasts and a wide range of radio programming. The Controller will lead a major modernisation programme across England to deliver greater value to all communities and strengthen our online provision. This is a key senior leadership role, critical to the success of BBC Local in England.
You'll notice he can't bring himself to say 'regional' news anymore for the tv output, despite the postholder being part of what the BBC officially calls 'English Regions'. Everything is 'Local' now, except you and I know it isn't....
