Broadcast tells us that Joanna Abeyie has been confirmed as Head of Creative Diversity at the BBC.
She arrived as an interim, in the wake of June Sarpong's departure. Joanna likes titles: she uses Dr from an honorary degree from the University of West London (such use would tax the BBC News graphics department if it became widespread among presenters); Cllr, from the City of London, where she was returned uncontested for Cornhill Ward; and FRSA, for Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, which boasts over 30,000 such honorees, who all pay £75 registration and £187 annually. She's an MBE, and in June was appointed a Commissioner in the UK Civil Service, helping with appointments. She's one of the youngest Liverymen at the Haberdashers' Company; she's a co-opted Governor at Haberdashers' Hatcham Primary and Hatcham College.
