The warm grasp of BBC management hands round the throat at BBC Three Counties today. As The Guardian flagged impending news of the evisceration of BBC Local Radio, mid-morning host Jonathan Vernon-Smith announced today's topic... "The BIG phone in today...What does BBC Three Counties Radio mean to YOU? Your call at 10am on @BBC3CR 08081 008800"

Within an hour, JVS was back on Twitter... 

You may well have seen reports in the paper regarding changes to BBC local radio. We were planning to discuss those reports today. However, we have been told that until the announcements have been made to staff, we are to hold off. Therefore the BIG phone in will be different.
