No 10 has turned to tv again for a communications supremo. After Craig Oliver and Robbie Gibb, our latest Prime Minister has hired Amber De Botton from ITV.
Amber has a BA in Politics and History at Durham, and parlayed that into jobs with entertainment producers Underbelly, then Sky as a script assistant. Politics came back into play with Dods, as a reporter, and then Sky News. As Amber Elliott, she spent three years with Iain Dale's Total Politics magazine and web offering, then it was back to Sky News as Deputy Head of Politics - and she married Oli de Botton, now CEO of a school careers advisory service. In 2017 she joined ITN, rising to Head of UK News last year.
She was rumoured to be in the frame when Boris (and Carrie ?) selected Allegra Stratton to be an on-screen spokesperson.
