Two hundred and five days ago, we got the news that the joint custodians of HR at the BBC, Wendy Aslett and Rachel Currie, were leaving. The hunt for a replacement has now become of one the slowest 'onboarding' procedures since the Government's search for someone to chair Ofcom.
There have been hints that the search had gone international, and maybe that was the problem. It could be that Tim Davie's ambition for fresh top talent is frustrated again, and that he'll have to promote internally, as he did in the end with new CFO Alan Dickson. He'll need someone good at handling cuts and redundancies very soon.
