Spotter

The latest to board the BBC Content Commissioning Train is Dawn Beresford, coming as Director of Talent.

Dawn has been in and out of the BBC, starting out as a runner, then for eight years made travel documentaries, directed some of Desperately Seeking Stardom, and produced Things to Do in Hoxton When You're Dead. In 2001 she returned as a genre executive in factual.

In 2010, she became the subject of a tv programme, Build a New Life in the Country, setting off to Barbados for five years with hubby Malcolm to build on a plot inherited from her mother. Hubby also found time to build a new Colony Club.

On her return she joined the Creative Access gang, and spotted talent for CPL (formerly Celador) and Arrow Productions; credits include A League of Their Own. She also acquired a literary agent, and in 2019, brought forth her first novel, Blessed Joan which "draws on her own experiences of growing up in Kent, those of the Windrush generation and the onset of psychosis".
