The first edition, back in June 2005, featured Frankie Boyle as one team captain, with Linda Smith and Hugh Dennis, against Rory Bremner, with John Oliver and Jeremy Hardy. In the chair, then as now, Dara O'Briain. I always presumed the title was a nod to the R4 Robert Robinson gabfest, Stop The Week.
