Nearly unlicensed

The end of the French tv licence fee edged closer last night, with the Senate approving replacement with funding from VAT by 196 to 147.  They did, however, add an amendment, calling for the move to be made temporary until the end of 2024. It now goes back to the National Assembly, with the Government trying to get a range of cost-of-living measures sorted before rising for the summer on August 7.
