Keep out

In the continuous game of whack-a-mole that is Tim Davie's Out of London strategy, people are still creeping back. I would be very surprised if Patrick Kielty, Radio 5 Live's Saturday morning replacement for Scott Mills and Chris Stark, makes much use of Avanti trains to present his show.

Controller Heidi Lawson can point to northerner Helen Skelton replacing London-based Laura Whitmore, but scouts for Nicky Campbell's weekday morning phone-in are hunting for tv capable space in London for his show that is due to wallpaper the schedules on what-was-once-the-BBC-News-Channel in the New Year.

Meanwhile Alan Davey has still to find an-out-of-London base for the BBC Concert Orchestra, and buy tickets for his 'leadership team' to rebase themselves in Salford. And, not-quite-out-of-London, the  completion of the new BBC music centre at Stratford remains high on the risk register - such that a team is already seeking 'commercial opportunities to utilise studio space to realise greater value from the facility'.
