Some mildly interesting trends in iPlayer use, in new figures released under a Freedom of Information request.
Back in 2018, there was a monthly average of 55 million requests to watch live programmes, compared with 248 million catch-up or download requests.
In the first seven months of this year, there was a monthly average of 122 million requests for live output, compared with 445 million catch-up or download requests. So, over time, live requests moving up from 18% of the total, to 22% this year.
