The BBC Newsroom is now clearly a concept rather than a physical entity. They're looking for someone to join their 'Social' team (media, rather than hobnobbing over refreshments), which we're told will have its main hub in Cardiff, with teams in Glasgow, Salford and Birmingham. This new Senior Journalist will be based in Salford, and excused night shifts, as 24 hour coverage is coming from Washington and Singapore.
Is it slightly misleading that this encouraging video features Planning Editor Jonny McGuigan (Highfield Middle School and BA Broadcast Journalism at Leeds) at the Broadcasting House newsroom ? Is it slightly disappointing that this team is so clearly separate from others in the new Digital First BBC ?
