New digs

Extending choice - yet another former Beeboid enters The Master's Lodge at a Cambridge college. This time it's Mary Hockaday, taking residence at Tit  Trinity Hall, her alma mater.

She left the BBC in 2021 as  Director of BBC World Service. Previously she's been Controller of BBC World Service English, Head of the BBC Newsroom (beating Craig Oliver and Kevin Bakhurst to the job, then being nudged out by James Harding) and Editor of World Service News. She joined the BBC as a production trainee in 1986, and then worked as a stringer for the Beeb and the Independent in Prague in the early nineties.
