Climate targets

Sky News is shuffling its dedicated climate change reporting offering out of evening primetime. The Daily Climate Show was started in April 2021, ahead of the November COP 26 in Glasgow; Sky was a Principal Partner and Media Parter for the summit. 

Most recently The Daily Climate Show has run at 8.30pm in the evening, where, since the arrival of Talk TV and its titanic hand-to-hand struggle with GB News, there's been more scrutiny of audience figures. 

Still, Sky News has the most protected pockets of the trio, with owners Comcast pledged to maintain annual expenditure for Sky News to at least the level incurred in the 2016/17 financial year for a period of ten years. So, there'll be new weekend output on climate change, to be presented by previously-very-much-BBC Tom Heap. 

For Tom, it's a return to Sky - he started out his media career there as a sound man. Now he's freelance, through his Checked Shirt TV production company,
