Dazzle and pizzazz

Tense times at Broadcasting House, where the slots currently occupied by Loose Ends and Saturday Live are out to tender. 

Both are currently produced 'in-house'. The brief for both includes the following paragraph. 

We are committed to making more programmes outside the M25 so that we can better reflect the whole country and the brilliant talent emerging across it. Diversity, in all its guises, matters here too for the same reason. However, the most important thing, as always on Radio 4, is creative and editorial vision.

To show how groovy things are under Controller Mo, the new Saturday evening show producers should "

blow us away with their ambition and pizzazz!"

For Saturday morning, there's more jargon: Can you dazzle us with a presenter(s) and a format that will delight listeners and help us pull the linear audience into the weekend, entertained, happy and wanting more from Radio 4? We feel that Saturday mornings can be an effective portal for a younger, more replenisher, audience (the average age for the slot at the moment is 63). It could be an exciting space to

introduce the audience to Radio 4, in all its infinite variety, and show what a modern, entertaining and intelligent (emotional as well as cerebral) station we are.
