The Mail on Sunday, which is seems well-connected in these matters, reports that the BBC is considering a form of reparation over l'affaire Bashir, at the suggestion of Earl Spencer.
The suggestion is that BBC Studios, the commercially-funded production wing, will donate at least £1.15m to a charity determined by Prince William and Prince Harry, representing profits made from international distribution of the 1995 Panorama interview with Princess Diana.
The Mail says the sum will rise to £1.5m, but is not clear how that calculation has been made.
