Full year figures for AMC Networks (the BBC's partner in running BBC America) show total network revenues down 11.5%, operating income down 18.4%, and Adjusted Operating Income down 15.9%.
One of AMC's expenses line includes marketing, rights and distribution for new streaming services. These include Acorn TV, ("Captivating characters from Britain and beyond") which is ploughing the same furrow as Britbox.
The deal with AMC was struck in 2014, when one Tim Davie described them as "the ideal partner".
