Balance sheet. The inflation-linked £1.50 increase in the BBC licence fee, from April 1st, should bring in an additional £38m, if the number of holders stays the same as this year. If 750,000 over-75s don't pay, the BBC will be down £119m over the year.
£38m was the 2019/21 content spend on Radio 1; £119m was what it cost to collect the licence fee.
