Night manoeuvres

The death of Frank Bough has brought back memories of the launch of Breakfast TV on the BBC in 1983 - he was the lead presenter.  This tweeter suggests one of those historical tv plays...

I think you could do it entirely from the BBC side of life. The race to get the BBC product to air before TV-am remains largely untold, but required, for example, a team from "BBC Resources" to move into Lime Grove overnight with bolt cutters and more, to remove furniture and equipment from the offices of existing production teams who were 'getting in the way', and change all the locks.

Then there was the pioneering Breakfast Hewlett Packard computer system, designed to deliver scripts and running orders without paper. This flyer tells the glossy version of the story.
