Congratulations to Vicki Young, promoted to Deputy Political Editor at BBC News. Vicki's ice-cool broadcasting persona presumably has its roots in a period as Head Girl at Truro High School for Girls and study at New Hall, Cambridge (contemporaries included Claudia Winkleman).
She manages to support Liverpool FC, Fulham FC and AFCWimbledon ("it's alright if you've moved about a bit"), likes the Six Nations, takes an interest in under-10 football and does the ironing.
Her partner, Rae Stewart reported politics and Scotland for GMTV, STV and ITN, before a move into Government communications, working on the Iraq Inquiry, as press secretary to Nick Clegg for part of his time as Deputy PM, then through DEFRA, Energy and Climate Change and the Department for Exiting the EU, to a brief three months running the whole of the Government Communications Service. Until last month he was in charge of comms for Water UK. He's also the author of The Vibe; "sex, drugs, trance music, murder - just a typical two weeks in Goa".
