With less than 20% of staff coming into work, it's not surprising that the BBC is having to cut back on catering. Like many other services, it's outsourced, largely to Baxter Storey, so there will be redundancies.
Canteens disappear entirely at The Mailbox in Birmingham, Maida Vale, Bristol, the training centre at Wood Norton and the North Wales outpost in Bangor. There'll be part closures at the Broadcast Centre in W12 and Belfast, and reduced hours or takeaway service only at New Broadcasting House, Salford, Pacific Quay, Elstree, Dumbarton and Roath Lock.
