According to The Sunday Times, the BBC's top ten directly-employed presenters by salary are (male) Gary Lineker, Graham Norton, Alan Shearer, Huw Edwards, Stephen Nolan and Steve Wright and (female) Zoe Ball, Fiona Bruce, Vanessa Feltz and Lauren Laverne. These will be formally revealed sometime on Tuesday, as the BBC publishes its delayed Annual Report
Six are there because of their radio salaries (Graham Norton gets quite a wodge for his Radio 2 Saturday show; the figure doesn't include his tv chat show fee). If Tim Davie makes radio production work as a commercial subsidiary quickly enough, they'll no longer be published. Is this wise ? All we'll be left with is News (including 5Live News shows) on the public list - a big hostage to fortune.
