New ways of working at BBC News start on October 5th, with a central team coordinating all plans for news coverage. There's also a new trio of bright young things in place as the core commissioning team, featuring 30-something Nick Rotherham (Sheffield University) who's been working on Newscast; 26-year-old Dulcie Lee, formerly editor of the King's College London student magazine, Roar; and Nisha Kapur (Birmingham University) who's already been commissioning stuff on behalf of BBC Africa.
Expect fewer stories about 80s pop stars.
