The BBC spent £23.4m on severance payments last year, compared with £17.8m in 2018/19. 331 got a deal to go, compared with 296 in the previous report.
There's a cap on redundancy payments at £150k, and the BBC is waiting for 'clarification' on when to move down to £95k, as the Government has indicated. Unsurprisingly, with this threat over people's head, there were more payments over £100k. 85 people got a deal at above this figure, averaging £122k.
