Trust us

The Telegraph's Harry Yorke reports "The next chair of the BBC must help restore the broadcaster’s reputation for impartiality, ministers believe, as they prepare to publish a job advert for the role within days.  Amid mounting frustration within Government over the corporation’s news programmes, The Telegraph has been told the successful candidate will be tasked with reviving trust in its reporting."

Here are some figures from Ofcom's report "News Consumption in the UK: 2020", produced by: Jigsaw Research from fieldwork conducted in November & December 2019 and February, March & April 2020, published this month. 

Percentage of weekly users who rate BBC output 7 or above (on a scale of 10) for 'trustworthy'.

BBC News website/app: 74%

BBC Radio: 69% 

BBC TV: 71%
