Yesterday's PM programme, at 5.00pm on Radio 4, led with Evan Davies reporting explosions in Beirut. First voice from the scene was a correspondent for France News 24, herself cut by flying glass. The first tweet from BBC Breaking News came at 5.06pm. Back on PM at 5.10pm, BBC Arabic Affairs Editor Sebastian Usher, in London, was calling the events 'extraordinary'.
