An element of role reversal in the latest disclosures of meetings/hospitality etc at the DCMS - the civil servants have been harder at it than the special advisers.
New Permanent Secretary Sarah Healey found time to be entertained to breakfast by James Harding of Tortoise, the management consultants Bain & Co, and Historic England. She also managed a February visit to New York, Washington and Los Angeles. Her Director General, Sam Lister was provided with a ticket to the Brit Awards and Afterparty by The Premier League.
On the ministerial front, John Whittingdale was entertained to dinner by newsreader Alistair Stewart. Nicky Morgan, pre-Lords, took breakfast with self-effacing agent Jonathan Shalit (to discuss future career moves ?) and was bought lunch by Fran Unsworth and Joanna Carr of BBC News. She enjoyed a dinner provided by the Hippodrome Casino.
