The big numbers of the BBC's Global Audience Measure often make my eyes glaze over. They're usually already a bit watery, as I consider the relative meanings of 'measure' and 'estimate'.
This year's total is 468m weekly reach, up 11% over twelve months. That's 7% shy of Lord Hall's 500m target, to be delivered by 2022.
The BBC World News tv channel is up from 101m, to 112m. We're told growth in "The Americas" is up 50%, but the base figure is not shared.
BBC World Service in English audiences are reported as "up 8% to 97m". This is odd, as last year's news release put the BBC World Service in English at 97m.
