Headcount is not the same as 'posts' or 'jobs', but it's a reasonable guide. BBC News and Current Affairs had 3,254 employees in the last Annual Report. 520 jobs represents close to 16% of that workforce.
The Nations & Regions had 6,051 employees in 2018/19; 450 jobs closing represents close to 7.5% of that workforce.
We do not have news of ITN's plans. This week boss Anna Mallett said she had a total staff of 750 - 350 of them journalists - producing programmes and bulletins for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Sky News (c600) is currently benefiting from a ten-year guarantee of inflation-proof funding after the takeover by Comcast.
