The news release says the job cut target for BBC News has moved up by 70, to 520. But there's very little detail on how this cut will be achieved.
Not-cut-as-much-as-rumoured: Politics Live returns, four days a week. No word on presenters - bet on Jo Coburn and no Andrew Neil.
Cut: Radio 4's In Business. Not cut: Evan Davis' Bottom Line.
Cut: TV reporters. Apparently asked to work harder: TV Correspondents. Re-imagined: reporters outside London have to apply to be Community Affairs reporters.
Nabbed: Newsgathering gets to pick up some 'skilled digital journalists' from Online.
Clustered: the remains of the Victoria Derbyshire production team and some others from "BBC Stories" work together on off-diary items. No word on Victoria's future.
Big cuts: "Building on the lessons of operating during Covid-19, we will use fewer studios and make significant reductions to our operations staff."
The Jedi Knights of Commissioning will get to wield the Light-Sabres of Enlightened-but-Narrower-and-More-Focussed-Choice as soon as someone works out if it's safe for them to come into Broadcasting House.
More as we get it.....
