Seaside news

Would it be interesting to know how many of the guests at Spectator Deputy Editor Freddy Gray's sausage-and-wine barbecue party on the Isle of Wight had downloaded the NHS Covid-19 app ? MP Bob Seeley was there, as was Brexit party chairman Richard Tice and his paramour Isabel Oakeshott (who says "I work on the Isle of Wight all year round"). Quite a good test case for some practice contact tracing.....

The app, still in Beta, was updated yesterday. Dr Geraint Lewis, in charge of the project for the NHS, said they'd had trouble over a ten-day period adding anosmia, losing sense of smell and taste, to the warning symptoms.  Clearly more complicated than just typing it in....

Mr Gray (Bradfield College and St Andrews) and his wife Taffeta (she runs an online children's clothestore) say they travelled to her mother's place in Seaview before lockdown.
