The Archers works on a five-week production schedule. Editor Jeremy Howe made a woeful strategic decision for the soap's return under lockdown, which started a month ago - the scripts are 90% monologues, and few of the actors sound confident with them; if there's a phone conversation, we only hear one end of it.
Let's hope R4 Controller Mo has picked up his mobile for a more productive chat with Jezzer, resulting in something a little better for listeners in a fortnight or so.
